GALAXIS Shares Its Embodied Intelligence Strategy at CIIS 2026

From September 5 to 6, 2026, the 15th China Intelligent Industries Summit Forum (CIIS 2026) was held in Shenzhen under the organization of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI).

Bao Lixin, Vice President of GALAXIS (02729.HK), was invited to speak at the forum on physical intelligence, where he delivered a presentation titled “From Intralogistics Robotics to Embodied Intelligence.” The presentation outlined GALAXIS’ technology evolution and its approach to extending full-stack robotics capabilities into embodied intelligence applications.

From Intralogistics Robotics to Embodied Intelligence

During the presentation, Bao reviewed GALAXIS’ more than decade-long development in intralogistics robotics.

Starting with the development of multi-directional shuttle robots (MSR), GALAXIS has built a product portfolio covering AMR autonomous mobile robots, VFR very narrow aisle forklift robots, and CSR conveying and sortation robots, supported by integrated hardware, software, and AI capabilities.

These technologies are deployed across industries including pharmaceuticals, automotive, new energy, electronics, footwear and textiles, and food and beverage.

Bao noted that GALAXIS’ move into embodied intelligence is an extension of its existing robotics capabilities rather than a new starting point. Under the principle of “scenario-driven, technology-led,” the company has accumulated real-world operational data across different industries, workflows, and levels of complexity.

According to GALAXIS, these physical robotics platforms and operational datasets provide an important foundation for the training and continuous improvement of embodied intelligence models.

Focusing on Real-World Industrial Tasks

Bao emphasized that the value of embodied intelligence should not be defined by robot form alone, but by its ability to solve practical problems in specific industrial environments.

Many intralogistics processes still rely heavily on manual work, particularly in complex handling and piece-picking operations. A typical piece-picking task may involve opening cartons, removing packaging materials, identifying and picking individual SKUs, placing items at designated locations, and handling empty containers — requiring a sequence of different perception and manipulation capabilities.

According to Bao, diverse packaging formats, changing operating environments, and high requirements for flexibility mean that further advances in models, data, and robot hardware are still required before embodied robots can autonomously perform many of these complex tasks at scale.

GALAXIS is therefore developing embodied robots as intelligent agents capable of combining adaptive physical forms, environmental perception, multiple operational capabilities, and fleet-level collaboration.

Its technology architecture integrates three layers — Perception Intelligence (PI), Computing Intelligence (CI), and Control Technology (CT) — to connect perception, decision-making, and physical execution.

GALAXIS is also a founding member of the Physical Intelligence Innovation Alliance (CPAII), supporting the application of physical and embodied intelligence technologies in real industrial environments.

A System-Level Approach to Embodied Intelligence

GALAXIS believes that deploying embodied intelligence in logistics requires more than improvements in robot hardware and AI algorithms. It also requires coordination with higher-level software systems and, in some cases, redesign of operational processes.

Intelligent Task Allocation
Higher-level systems dynamically assign tasks according to robot capabilities, directing suitable tasks to robots while leaving tasks outside their current capability range to human operators.

Closed-Loop Exception Handling
The system continuously monitors task execution and establishes a complete cycle covering execution, monitoring, feedback, intervention, and recovery to support operational continuity.

System and Process Coordination
By coordinating higher-level control systems with operational workflows, GALAXIS aims to progressively enable a fully coordinated autonomous intralogistics environment.

Advancing Full-Stack Robotics with AI

GALAXIS continues to develop embodied intelligence around its existing full-stack robotics platform, combining physical robot systems, AI algorithms, software control, and system planning capabilities.

The company’s long-term direction is to extend its role from a provider of full-stack intralogistics robotics solutions toward a broader intelligent robotics platform, while continuing to explore scalable embodied intelligence applications across real-world industrial logistics environments.
